What were you looking for when researching bridal hairstylists?

When I started looking for a hairstylist for my wedding hair, I really wanted someone modern and who was keeping up with current hair trends. I had always envisioned big Hollywood waves and Kira was able to create exactly what I wanted. Not only did I want the wedding hair of my dreams, I wanted an amazing experience with my hairstylist. Kira is so organized, professional, down to earth, and kind, just to name a few of her qualities. Not only is she all those things but she is incredibly talented and I couldn’t have pictured anyone else being a part of my day. Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life and all areas of that day should be handled with care and Kira did just that.

Why did you decide to book Parla Hair for your wedding?

Wedding planning can be so daunting and stressful in normal times but especially in a pandemic! Kira made the process so easy and she was beyond lovely to deal with. The entire process was extremely organized, we kept in touch and had as much communication as I needed which was so reassuring from a covid bride. From the initial time we spoke, to my trial, up until my wedding day, it was a 5 star experience. I first found Kira on Instagram and knew I had to book her as soon as I saw her work and I’m so glad I did! Not only did I love her but so many of my friends got to see her talents and have booked her since my wedding.

Effortless, organized, magical!

What was your favourite part about your experience as a Parla Bride?

Kira makes you feel comfortable as soon as you interact with her. You don’t feel like you just hired a vendor but you feel like you’ve made a new friend who’s going to create the hair of your dreams! I really appreciated her down to earth personality and how much thought she put into everything she did over my wedding timeline. Just from sending a thank you card with a scrunchie once I joined the Parla bride list, to checking in over email to see how I was doing – she really does a great job at getting you excited and making you feel special before, during and even after your big day!

If you could go back and give one piece of advice to ‘Newly Engaged Emma’, what would it be?

Don’t become so fixated on the small details! My wedding day was everything I wanted and more (despite it happening over a pandemic). I didn’t need all the little things to make my day magic. The most important parts were the people that were there and remembering I was marrying the love of my life! Sit down and prioritize with your partner what is most important to you on your day and put your focus there! No one is going to remember what linens you had or if you had chair covers or not. Enjoy every minute of the planning process and let it be fun!
