Are Hollywood Glam Waves For You?

This summer I’ve seen an uptake in the amount of requests for Hollywood glam waves and while I absolutely LOVE creating this look, there are a few truths you should know before choosing this style.

1)It’s not a ‘simple’ wave

In fact, it’s the most high maintenance and time consuming style you could choose. It takes me anywhere between 1.5 – 2 hours to create this look and it will take you all night to maintain it. What do I mean by this?  It’s not a touchable, tossable, or moveable ‘do. In order to maintain that perfect wave, you can’t touch your hair. Like ever. Like ever ever. Once it’s set, your hands are lava.

2)It’s not meant for every dress style (or getting ready outfit)

Glam waves + high backed dresses = frizz ball. If your hair rests on any part of your dress, the friction will cause frizz and unfortunately there is no way around it. Instead, this style works great for open backed dresses and loves resting on silk or satin (hint for your getting ready outfit!)

3)You’ll likely need extensions.

There’s something about extension hair that makes it the perfect addition for glam waves – it holds a curl like no other! A good set of extensions also adds the volume needed to create a full and long lasting style. If you don’t want to buy a set for your wedding day, you can always rent!
